Jesus deals with a government employee whose son is dying in John 4. He pleads that Jesus come down and heal his son who is 20 miles away. Jesus gives a strange response: “Unless you people see signs and wonders you won’t believe!” This is at the beginning of Jesus’s ministry and He is already seen as a miracle worker, someone who can help you with your problems, but few seem to believe that He should be followed, obeyed, and worshiped. The man is desperate and says, “Sir, come before my son dies!” and Jesus says, “Go, your son will live.” So the man leaves and meets some of his slaves who have been sent to inform him that his son is well now. “When did he get better?” “Yesterday at 1 o’clock.” which was when Jesus had told him his son will live. It says the man believed with his whole household. Saved? I think so. He got more than a healing. He got a boss, a Lord, even a God. Make sure you get all God wants to give you.
