Psalm 32 is about the wonder of being forgiven. Imagine you do something you should not do, something bad. You can’t undo it after it is done. You regret it and apologise, but it is still there, a truth that you can not remove or honestly deny. What do you do? King David, who knew a thing or two about being guilty of sin tells us that we can once again be happy, blessed, and joyful if you are forgiven. He is speaking of God’s forgiveness. Others may not forgive and we may not even forgive ourselves, but there is forgiveness with God and we ought to avail ourselves of it. We need to be honest and admit we did wrong, to own it, and to desire forgiveness. As we deal obediently with God He offers us forgiveness. Impossible? Yes, but God can do the impossible. We can never pay it back but we should try, eagerly seeking to spread grace to any who want it. God is a very real help in our times of need.
