Seabreeze Beacon Chambers County News

Like most living in the United States, I believe you either need to be a Citizen or have the proper documentation that allows you to be here. For some reason, however, our government has long chosen to allow the undocumented to live and work with little fear of deportation. Some have been here long enough to have raised children to adulthood.

Businesses in agriculture and construction have been allowed to hire the undocumented to the extent that now they are almost completely dependent on them. You wonder why there are Latinos in Arkansas and Nebraska . Check out who is working at Tyson’s meat processing plants.

It is time to do what is right. The Federal Government needs to develop a simple process for a company to obtain a work visa for their current undocumented workers. The Federal Government needs to require companies like Tyson and Smithfield to request these work visas for their undocumented workers so these people do not have to live in fear of being jerked up by masked Ice Agents in the middle of the night. Then put heavy fines on any company employing non-citizens without a valid work visa.

It would make me feel better knowing when Ice Agents picks up an undocumented person to deport that he was not the worker that processed the chicken sandwich I was eating.

Surely this is something that both Democrats and Republicans could agree.
