Lady Panthers Volleyball Comes Up Short Again This Week

Anhuac Lady Panthers Volleyball Overall 8-23 District 0-2

Anahuac Panthers vs. Kountze Lions 

  Anahuac suffered their biggest defeat since September 2nd on Tuesday, September 9th. They came up short against the Kountze Lions, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that’s the second time they’ve come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Saturday.

  While Anahuac ultimately came up short, they really made Kountze work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-12, 26-24, 25-15.

  Brayli Van Vickle paced Anahuac’s offense, picking up four kills. Van Vickle got some help from Sky Hedges and her seven assists. Finally, Addilynn Pierce kept Anahuac’s defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

  Anahuac has been struggling recently as they’ve lost 16 of their last 18 games. That’s put a noticeable dent in their 8-22 record this season.

  Game stats are as follows: #1 Brecken Wilpitz with 3 kills, 5 digs, and 1 assist; #4 Rai’Ana Lewis with 1 kill, 1 block, and 3 digs; #5 Callie Henicke with 2 digs; #6 Brogan May with 1 dig; #7 Madison Willis with 3 kills, 1 block assist, and 1 dig; #8 Brayli Van Vickle with 4 kills and 6 digs; #9 Addi DeHoyos with 1 kill, 3 digs, and 4 assists; #10 Avery Smith with 1 kill and 3 digs; #12 Addilynn Pierce with 2 kills and 4 blocks; and #13 Sky Hedges with 6 digs and 7 assists.

Anahuac Panthers vs. Orangefield Bobcats

  It was a proper cat-fight when Anahuac faced off against Orangefield on Friday. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Bobcats. The Panthers have now taken an ‘L’ in back-to-back games.

  The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-21, 25-18.

  Anahuac’s loss dropped their record down to 8-23.

  Game stats are as follows: #1 Brecken Wilpitz with 1 kill and 9 digs; #2 Addison Dugat with 2 digs and 3 assists; #4 Rai’Ana Lewis with 1 kill, 2 blocks, and 6 digs; #5 CAllie Henicke with 2 digs; #6 Brogan May with 2 digs; #7 Madison Willis with 1 block and 1 dig; #9 Addi DeHoyos with 4 digs and 4 assists; #10 Avery Smith with 3 kills and 7 digs; and #13 Sky Hedges with 2 digs.

  The Lady Panthers traveled to Winnie to take on the East Chambers Lady Bucs on Tuesday, September 16th. They will be on the road again on Friday, September 19th as they will take on the Deweyville Lady Pirates.
