East Chambers controlled the match from the start, earning a 25-15 victory in the opening set before taking the second set 25-20. The Lady Bucs closed out the sweep with a 25-22 win in the third set.

Defensively, #0 Jimena Vargas led the Lady Bucs with 18 digs. #2 Addalyn Blank contributed seven digs, while #4 Addiyson Copeland added six.

The 3-0 victory gave East Chambers some momentum heading into the final week of August.

That momentum was tested Friday, August 28th, when the Lady Bucs traveled to Liberty to face the Liberty Lady Panthers. East Chambers fell 3-0, with Liberty taking the sets 25-12, 25-10 and 25-14.

#3 Mikeala Quave led the Lady Bucs with four kills in the match, followed by #11 Makayla Montoya with three. #8 Addie Parker again paced the offense with 27 assists, while #0 Jimena Vargas recorded 18 digs. #2 Addalyn Blank added seven digs and #4 Addiyson Copeland finished with six.

The Lady Bucs will now turn their attention to tournament play. East Chambers’ scheduled match for Tuesday, September 1st, was canceled due to inclement weather.

The Lady Bucs will return to action September 3-5 at the Hardin-Jefferson Tournament, looking to use the tournament as an opportunity to regroup, gain valuable court experience and build momentum moving forward in the season.
