East Chambers Buccaneers vs. Orangefield Bobcats

  It was a good run, but East Chambers unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday, March 7th. They came up short against the Orangefield Bobcats, falling 8-0. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Buccaneers’ shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

 Isabella Quave spent all seven innings on the mound, and it’s clear why: she surrendered eight runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn’t given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

East Chambers Takes a Loss

  East Chambers came into this matchup off a tough eight-run loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Anahuac Panthers by a score of 5-3 on Monday, March 10th. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Buccaneers of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair’s previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

  Isabella Quave was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). That’s the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

  Quave wasn’t the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Marley Morgan, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

  This is the second loss in a row for East Chambers and nudges their season record down to 13-7-1. As for Anahuac, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-2-2.

   East Chambers took on Hardin on Tuesday, March 11th.
