Dear Gloria,
This week, House Republicans took another important step to strengthen election integrity by passing the SAVE America Act for the fourth time.
I proudly voted YES on both the House Rule attaching the legislation to the FY27 National Security, State Department, and Related Programs Appropriations Bill and on final passage, which cleared the House by a vote of 217-209.
The SAVE America Act would require proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections, require photo identification to vote in federal elections, strengthen voter roll verification, and provide clear guidance to states for implementing these protections.
By attaching this legislation to must-pass appropriations legislation, the House is keeping election integrity at the forefront and urging the Senate to finally act.
Protecting the integrity of our elections is one of the legislative branch’s most important responsibilities, and I remain committed to ensuring that only American citizens vote in American elections.
