HFISD Superintendent Unexpectedly Retires

  After being named 2025-2026 Region 5 Superintendent of the Year, Dr. Dwaine Augustine, superintendent of the Hamshire-Fannett Independent School District (HFISD), resigned effective June 30, 2026, after 10 years of service to HFISD.

  HFISD Board of Trustees accepted his letter of retirement and immediately appointed Darrell Westfall, HFISD assistant superintendent, as the interim superintendent.
