EC FFA Students Shine at TX FFA Convention

  The 98th Annual Texas FFA State Convention was a week filled with achievement, leadership, and unforgettable experiences for our chapter. From earning the highest honors in the association to competing in the arena and giving back to the community, our members represented our school with pride and purpose.  Two of our outstanding members, Teal Kraehnke and Ava Bone, earned the prestigious Lone Star FFA Degree—the highest degree of membership the Texas FFA Association can award. This honor recognizes years of dedication, leadership, and service within the FFA program. Teal and Ava’s hard work and commitment have set a powerful example for younger members and made our chapter incredibly proud.  The Texas FFA Rodeo brought excitement and big wins for our chapter as well. Tucker Cart and Colton Juranka competed with grit and determination throughout the event. Tucker had an exceptional showing, earning the titles of Reserve Champion Saddle Bronc Rider and Champion Header in Team Roping, partnered with his heeler Sloan from Richards FFA. Their teamwork and skill shined in the arena, adding to the momentum of an already successful week. Our chapter’s rodeo accomplishments didn’t stop there. At the Short Go FFA Rodeo, our school was named the Number One School in the State among those who competed—an incredible honor that reflects the dedication and talent of our members. Beyond competition, the convention offered countless opportunities for personal and professional growth. Members attended workshops throughout the week, including “Start Where You Are: Turning Your First Job into a Launchpad” and “From the Show Ring to Real World Experience”, which helped students connect their FFA experiences to future careers. We also participated in several convention sessions, from inspiring retiring addresses to performances from talent teams representing every area of the state. These moments reminded us of the strength, diversity, and unity within the Texas FFA community. In the spirit of giving back, our chapter contributed to the C.A.L.F. Program by donating socks and shoes to support families in need. This act of service highlighted the heart of FFA—leadership grounded in compassion and community.  The 98th Annual Texas FFA State Convention was more than an event—it was a celebration of achievement, growth, and the bright future of our members. From earning the Lone Star Degree to winning rodeo titles and participating in leadership workshops, our chapter made its mark on the state stage. We return home inspired, proud, and ready for the year ahead.
