It was another exciting meet for the East Chambers Swim team as they competed at the Region 3-4A UIL Championship Swim meet on January 30th and January 31st at Lamar High School in Houston. This is the 4th year the East Chambers swimmers and have advanced to the 4A State Championship Swim meet.
Coached by Leslie Todd, these athletes work very hard each season and off-season to reach their goals. The Buccaneer swim team consists of both Bucs and Lady Bucs swimmers. Most all the athletes are involved in many activities from other sports, band, cheer, drill team, and upper-level scholastic courses. These athletes train when they can around their already very full schedules in Nederland. To say these athletes are very dedicated to their sport is an understatement, they are dedicated and very passionate to give their all at each swim meet. Coach Leslie Todd exclaimed, “I could not be more proud of this crew! They work so hard, balancing multiple activities and late-night drives to the pool.”
These are the Regional Swim meet results:

Even with all the obstacles, time, schedules, and long drives, these swimmers show up, work hard, and earn every accomplishment. They were not happy with anything less than first, but let us celebrate just how much they achieved with so little time in the pool.
A few other outstanding achievements to be recognized: Hayden LeVeck – State 4 years; Reid Todd – State 3 years; Koby Jones – State 3 years; Drew Frederick – State 2 years; Chip Franklin – State 2 years; and Kalyssa Fontenot – State 1 year.
The East Chambers Buccaneers will be traveling to San Antonio to the Josh Davis Natatorium to compete in the 4A State Championship Meet on February 12th at 10am and February 13th at 11am. You can follow and watch your Buccaneers Swim team live on NFHS Sports.
We at The Seabreeze Beacon would like to congratulate the East Chambers Buccaneers Swim team on their outstanding achievements this season and as always, “It’s a great day to be a Buccaneer!”
