East Chambers Swim Team Advance to State

By Coach Leslie Todd
Making it to Regionals is such an accomplishment, but to place is AMAZING! Our boys team of 7, finished in 4th place out of 20+ teams! These kids are crazy talented. Swim is so technical, it is intense. There were so many DQ’s. We needed everyone to cut time, have fast starts, great turns and get every stroke perfect. That is just what they did. ALL of them! Emotions are so high during this event. Our boys were calm and took care of business. What I’m most proud of is their great sportsmanship, it wasn’t always returned but they displayed it so well.
EC Swim is going to State! Top 2 qualify automatically for the state meet. There are wildcard slots for kids with the next best times across the regions. We are hopeful that some of our 3rd place finishes might qualify.
1st Place – 200 Medley Relay – Reid Todd-Backstroke, Brandt Meaux-Breast stroke, Hayden Leveck-Butterfly, and Koby Jones-Freestyle
3rd Place – 400 Freestyle Relay – Hayden Leveck, David Cuerdo, Reid Todd, and Brandt Meaux
7th Place 200 Freestyle Relay – Koby Jones, Garrett Reves, Matthew Reddell, and David Cuerdo
Brandt Meaux – 2nd Place – 100 Butterfly, 500 Freestyle
Reid Todd – 2nd Place – 100 Backstroke, 3rd Place – 50 Freestyle and he was called up for a wildcard slot
Hayden Leveck – 5th Place-100 Freestyle, 6th place – 200 Freestyle

Thank you Tanya for all of your help! She had her Mary Poppins bag with anything and everything the team might need. We love our team nurse and photographer!
