East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers lost to King 12-7 on Thursday at Goose Creek Memorial High School.
King got on the board in the top of the first inning after Haley Jones tripled, scoring two runs, and Malayah Goodman singled, scoring one run.
Nelly Pizano homered to left field, scoring two runs in the top of the second for the King.
King scored five runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. A’laeha Hayes grounded out, scoring one run, Faith LeJeune singled, scoring one run, and Pizano homered to left field, scoring three runs.
Jones earned the win for King. The hurler allowed four hits and seven runs (two earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out five and walking seven. Destiney Deyoung took the loss for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The hurler went four innings, allowing 12 runs (10 earned) on 12 hits, striking out two and walking two.
Emily Vratis and Deyoung were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. Kaydence Pinson, Zoe Selby, Vratis, and Deyoung each collected one hit for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Rilynne Ortego and Addie Parker led the team with two walks each. Deyoung stole three bases. East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers stole six bases in the game.
King tallied 12 hits in the game. Amayah Loredo, Pizano, and Jones each collected two hits for King. Pizano went 2-for-2 at the plate and led the team with five runs batted in. Morgan Latour stole two bases.
Emily Vratis drove in four runs on two hits to lead East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers past Sam Rayburn 13-2 on Thursday at Goose Creek Memorial High School. Vratis hit an inside the park home run in the second inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the first inning, scoring one.
A ground out by #11 put Sam Rayburn on the board in the top of the first.
East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring six runs on four hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Zoe Selby that drove in one.
Vratis hit an inside the park home run, scoring three runs in the bottom of the second for the East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers.
East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Halleigh Hanna scored after tagging up, and Adysen Gonzales tripled, scoring two runs.
Destiney Deyoung earned the win for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and two runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking two. #11 took the loss for Sam Rayburn. The reliever went three innings, giving up six runs on four hits, striking out three and walking three.
Kaydence Pinson and Vratis each collected two hits for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. Gonzales led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Hanna, Vratis, and Gonzales each stole multiple bases for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers ran wild on the base paths, accumulating 10 stolen bases for the game.
#16 led Sam Rayburn with one run batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-1 on the day. #24 led Sam Rayburn with two hits in two at bats. #24 stole two bases. Sam Rayburn were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. #7 had the most chances in the field with three.
New Caney scored six runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers 11-1 on Friday at Goose Creek Memorial High School.
New Caney jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Jaelynn Delgado grounded out, scoring one run, Taylar Russell singled, scoring one run, Kamdyn Knight doubled, scoring three runs, and Addison Edmondson grounded out, scoring one run.
New Caney added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Alyssa Leger doubled to center field, Russell grounded out, Madison Cox doubled, and #42 singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Russell hit a solo home run to right field in the top of the third for the New Caney.
Rilynne Ortego took the loss for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The pitcher went one and one-third innings, giving up one run on one hit, striking out none and walking none. Destiney Deyoung started in the circle for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The starter gave up 10 hits and 10 runs (seven earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking two. Allie Srader led things off in the circle for New Caney. The hurler allowed one hit and one run over three innings, striking out three and walking two.
Halleigh Hanna went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
New Caney accumulated 11 hits in the game. Cox, Russell, and Leger each collected two hits for New Caney. Knight and Russell each drove in three runs for New Caney.
