The Lady Bucs Volleyball team traveled to Kountze Friday night and came away with a victory in three sets, 25-20, 25-14, and 25-15. The Lady Bucs played hard and looked good in many aspects of the game, but Coach Jonathon Snipes said, “They still need to clean up some things, mostly on offense, to get ourselves to reach our maximum potential.” What the coach is referring to is too many errors. The Lady Bucs committed 19 errors in the first set, 12 errors in the second set, and 13 errors in the third set. Coach Snipes said, “The team is on the verge of everything clicking… we just need to have that game where it all comes together.” Against the Lady Lions the back row of #4 Cadence Ridgaway, # 7 Kailey Mills and #8 Leah Smith controlled the game with great passing whether it was serve receiving, digging, or free balls. #15 Quincy Wilcox led the team in kills with nine as #11 Bailey Kahla, #1 Makenna Guillory and #8 Leah Smith each had four. #2 Maci Charpiot was the assist leader with 14 and #15 Quincy Wilcox was not far behind with nine. Service ace leaders were #2 Maci Charpiot with eight service aces and #11 Bailey Kahla added three more. The Lady Bucs will continue District play this week as they travel to Warren on Tuesday and Kirbyville on Friday. Both games are away games.
