East Chambers Buccaneers Boys Soccer

The Bucs traveled to La Porte, Monday March 16th, to take on the Bulldogs in a playoff warm up game. La Porte would take  a 1-0 lead 24 minutes into the first half. The Bucs would tie the game 1-1 on a Max Vargas goal right before halftime. The game remained tied for most of the second half. The Bucs would take a 2-1 lead after Bryan Chavez scored with just under 10 minutes remaining in the game. The Bucs were able to stop the Bulldogs in the final minutes, securing the win.

Stats against La Porte:

Scoring for the Bucs: Max Vargas and Bryan Chavez.

Defensively the Bucs were led by Ricardo Lopez, Jose Rufino, Mario Herrera, Leonel Turrubiarte, Hector Torres, Xabi Morales and David  Lopez.

Goalkeeper Anthony Gomez had 2 saves and 2 blocks.

The Bucs traveled to Beaumont Friday night to take on the Jasper Bulldogs in the first round of the 2026 UIL Soccer Playoffs. The Bucs would take a 2-0 lead into halftime after goals were scored by Bryan Chavez and Max Vargas. The Bulldogs would score first in the second half. The Bucs fouled a Jasper player in the box awarding the Bulldogs a penalty kick. GK Anthony Gomez would block the PK attempt, but a Jasper player was able to follow up and score the goal, trimming the lead to 2-1. EC would score three unanswered goals extending their lead to 5-1, which would be the final score securing the Buccaneers the Bi-District Championship.

Assists: Adan Garcia, David Lopez, Max Vargas, Leonel Turrubiarte and Xabi Morales.

Defensively the Bucs were led by Mario Herrera, Xabi Morales, Ricardo Lopez, Jose Rufino, Leonel Turrubiarte, and David Lopez.

East Chambers faced #3 Brookshire Royal in the Area Round of the 2026 UIL Soccer Playoffs. The game was played on Tuesday, March 24th at 7pm at Grand Oaks High School.
