The East Chambers Buccaneers traveled to compete in the Colmesneil Tournament from Thursday, February 26th – Saturday, February 28th.
Colmesneil scored five runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers 9-3 on Friday.
Colmesneil got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Grant Jones induced Eddins to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Blake singled, scoring two runs, Jones induced Winsemar to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, and an error scored one run.
A ground out by Blake extended the Colmesneil lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the second inning.
Jones led things off on the hill for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The righty surrendered seven hits and six runs (four earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking two. Medina started on the hill for Colmesneil. The hurler surrendered five hits and three runs over six innings, striking out one and walking one.
Jackson Seabeaugh, Sam Cathriner, Koby Jones, Reid Todd, and Case Rayburn each collected one hit for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. Cathriner, Jones, and Todd each drove in one run for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers.
Blake provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Colmesneil with three runs batted in. The catcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Bendy went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Colmesneil in hits.
Reid Todd collected three hits in three at bats, as East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers defeated Broaddus 15-0 on Saturday. Todd doubled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the second inning.
East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers scored eight runs in the first inning on the way to victory. Case Rayburn singled, scoring one run, Sam Cathriner tripled, scoring one run, Hank Huff grounded out, scoring one run, Braxtyn Trahan drew a walk, scoring one run, Todd singled, scoring one run, Koby Jones singled, scoring two runs, and Rayburn singled, scoring one run.
East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Grant Jones singled to the left side of the infield, Broaddus committed an error, Trahan singled to center field, Broaddus committed an error, Cathriner walked, and Zach Richey was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.
A double by Todd extended the East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers lead to 15-0 in the top of the third inning.
Cathriner earned the win for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The righty gave up one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out five and walking one. Sowell took the loss for Broaddus. The starting pitcher went three innings, surrendering 15 runs (eight earned) on 11 hits, striking out three and walking five. Jackson Seabeaugh tossed one inning of shutout ball for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers in relief. The hurler allowed zero hits, striking out one and walking none.
East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers piled up 11 hits in the game. Cathriner, Jones, Trahan, Todd, and Rayburn each drove in two runs for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers.
Sowell led Broaddus with one hit in two at bats.
East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers scored 10 runs in the second inning, which helped them defeat Trinity 18-0 on Saturday. Hank Huff drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Alexander induced Teal Kraehnke to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Ethan Meissner singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Cam Dillard drew a walk, scoring one run, Huff drew a walk, scoring one run, Zach Richey drew a walk, scoring one run, Kraehnke drew a walk, scoring one run, and Jackson Seabeaugh was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Sam Cathriner singled, scoring one run, Tanner Salazar drew a walk, scoring one run, Grant Jones was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Kraehnke was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Meissner singled, scoring two runs, Reid Todd doubled, scoring one run, and Koby Jones singled, scoring one run.
Hayden Leveck earned the win for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The starter surrendered zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking two. Barnett took the loss for Trinity. The pitcher went one-third of an inning, allowing seven runs on one hit, striking out none and walking three. Seabeaugh tossed one inning of zero-run ball for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers in relief. The reliever allowed zero hits, striking out none and walking one.
Kraehnke and Meissner were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. Meissner, East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers’s number nine hitter, led the team with two hits in two at-bats. Huff led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. Meissner stole two bases. East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game. East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Case Rayburn had the most chances in the field with three.
