The East Chambers Bucs hosted the Hardin Hornets on Tuesday, March 31st and then traveled to Hardin on Thursday, April 2nd. The Bucs celebrated their sixth win on Thursday against the Hardin Hornets.

East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers Breeze Past Hardin

East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers easily dispatched Hardin on Tuesday, 11-3.

East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after one run scored on another play, Reid Todd drew a walk, scoring one run, and Koby Jones singled, scoring two runs.

Hank Huff earned the win for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The right-handed pitcher allowed four hits and three runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out seven and walking four. Berry took the loss for Hardin. The pitcher went two innings, surrendering five runs (zero earned) on one hit, striking out four and walking four. Grant Jones collected the save.

Jones led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with three runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-4 on the day. East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers had patience at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Case Rayburn, Todd, and Tanner Salazar led the team with two walks each.

Whitehead, Hardin’s number seven hitter, led the team with two hits in three at-bats.

Runs Hard To Come By In East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers Win Versus Hardin

Both teams were strong on the bump on Thursday, but East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers defeated Hardin 2-1. Hayden Leveck started the game for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers and recorded 21 outs.

East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Case Rayburn grounded out, and Grant Jones hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Leveck earned the win for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The righty gave up six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out nine and walking one. Phelps took the loss for Hardin. The hurler went six innings, allowing two runs (zero earned) on two hits, striking out six and walking four.

Sam Cathriner and Jones each collected one hit for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. Rayburn and Jones were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. Reid Todd stole two bases. East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Rayburn had the most chances in the field with nine.

Hardin’s Collins, the number eight hitter, led Hardin with three hits in three at bats. Burgess went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Collins stole two bases. Hardin turned one double play in the game.

East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers play at home on Tuesday, April 7th against Kirbyville in their next game. The Bucs will be on the road on Friday, April 10th as they take on the Kirbyville Wildcats in this series. The EC Bucs will celebrate Senior Night on Tuesday, April 14th.
