East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers Stymied By Orangefield

East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers couldn’t keep up with Orangefield and fell 10-0 on Tuesday.

Orangefield got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers committed an error, and Menard hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Orangefield added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Green grounded out, scoring one run, and Sprayberry doubled, scoring two runs.

Orangefield scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. #19 singled, scoring two runs, Click singled, scoring one run, and Anderson doubled, scoring two runs.

Hank Huff took the loss for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The right-handed pitcher went four innings, giving up five runs (three earned) on five hits, striking out three and walking two. Menard opened the game for Orangefield. The hurler allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking three.

Grant Jones went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers in hits.

Orangefield accumulated nine hits in the game. Click, Anderson, Menard, Green, Vacio, Sprayberry, Myers, Reynolds, and #19 each collected one hit for Orangefield. Anderson, Sprayberry, and #19 each drove in two runs for Orangefield. Orangefield were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Worthy made the most plays with nine.
