The last couple of meets have seen sea saw results in the Boys High Jump. Trent Guidry and Trey Anderson have switched from first to second place in Area and District. Guidry came out on top in Area with Anderson coming in second, and Anderson won Regional with Guidry coming in second. So, at the UIL 3A State track meet last Friday in Austin, Trent Guillory came in second in the high job and Trey Anderson placed third. Nolton Shelvin did not disappoint either. Shelvin placed third in the 100 M Dash. EC Boys Track Head Coach Chris Fontenot said, “I was very pleased with way the boys competed. The conditions were not ideal, but without complaining, we did our best to get on the medal stand in every event we competed in.” He continued, “This has been a very special track season. I would like to thank all of the seniors that showed leadership all season long. I am looking forward to the future, it is very bright.” The Boys 4 x 200 Relay team of Jayce Guillory, Brayden Guillory, Nolton Shelvin, and Kordell David placed fourth. The Girls 4 x 100 Relay team of Kennedy Flanagan, Valencia Thomas, Ashlyn Murphy, and Rori Stevens came in seventh.
