Restauranteur Brad Vratis and several of his staff were at the Market Basket parking lot in Winnie this past weekend assisting in gathering donations from the community to fill an 18 wheeler truck that will be delivering needed items to people who have been impacted by devastating hurricanes Helene and Milton. Cowboys Ready Mix is sending six 18 wheelers filled with urgent items to those affected in the Asheville, North Carolina area. “Our community has been phenomenal,” exclaimed Vratis. “This past week we filled three truckloads from donations from the Bolivar Peninsula community, and now, here in Winnie- Stowell, it has been phenomenal with people dropping off items. They are literally buying items at Market Basket and the Family Dollar store and bringing them right to us.” The Winnie-Stowell community has always been generous in helping others in need and Vratis stated that he expects the truck on site will be totally full by the end of the weekend. “Thanks to the Cowboy Ready Mix family, Bubba Jannise and so many others who have help organize and contribute to this relief effort, and especially to you, our community for your generosity.”

If you would like to donate items, bring them to Cowboys Ready Mix corporate office at 24095 I-10 in Wallisville from 8am to 5pm, and Chambers County Economic Development office at 508 S Main in Anahuac from 8am to Noon, and 1pm to 5pm, both locations are open Monday through Friday.
