On Tuesday, November 12, the sanctuary at Cornerstone Church was filled with empty shoe boxes and tables with items to fill 400 GO (Gospel Opportunity) boxes for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child.  Christmas music played as 41 children and adults packed the GO boxes with items like school supplies, shirts, back packs, stuffed animals, soccer balls and more that will be given to a child from one of over 100 countries that Samaritan’s Purse sends shoe boxes to.  Along with the box, each child will go through The Greatest Journey Discipleship course where they will learn about the love of Jesus for them.

This was Cornerstone’s first year to have children help with the packing party.  Some of the comments they said was they liked packing gifts to help give someone else a Christmas so they could have toys and they liked packing the boxes with their family and friends.

Dr. Rhonda Glanzer is the head of the committee for this event.  She says the success of the packing party is only possible because of the generosity of the congregation, friends, and family outside of the church, as well as businesses that helped donate for the supplies, shipping , and the discipleship course.  God provided everything we needed for this event.  Rhonda’s favorite item this year was the crocheted hats that several people made and donated that will go to a boy ages 2-4.
