It was standing room only at the Winnie-Stowell Community Building this past Saturday as hundreds of friends and family of long time East Chambers Coach Todd East, came together to support him and his family as he battles cancer. Organizers Scott Jones, Tammy Gilfillian, Gena Campbell, and others brought the community together for a delicious chicken/sausage gumbo. The team sold hundreds of “Coach East” bracelets. Almost 100 items were in the silent auction and over 25 items were in the live auction. Raffle tickets were also sold for a variety of prizes.
Coach East and his family have been dedicated and active members of the Winnie community for over 30 years. Funds raised will go to paying for medical expenses and supporting the family during these trying times.
