A regular meeting of the Chambers County Commissioners’ Court was held last Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Several proclamations were presented. The Court recognized two solid waste county employees who through a partnership with Lee College were able to complete their CDL training. Congratulations to Charles Blasberg and Matthew LeBlanc!

A proclamation was also presented to Andy Legg, President of the Chambers County Public Health District #1 (Chambers Health) board of directors in honor of National Hospital Week.

Also, it is National Police Week. Sheriff Brian Hawthorne always honors the fallen officers during this week. The four law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in Chambers County are Sheriff John Lighter Frost, End of Watch: November 10, 1900; Deputy Constable Levi E. Oliver, End of Watch: March 5, 1930; Deputy Sheriff Dirk Ray Knearem, End of Watch: October 17, 2004, and Deputy Sheriff Shane Thomas Detwiler, End of Watch: July 13, 2009. We will forever be grateful.
