Mont Belvieu, TX — The Chambers County Children’s Museum is proud to announce the  appointment of Kathy Harrison as its new Executive Director. With a deep-rooted background in early childhood education leadership, reading literacy, and special education,  Kathy brings a wealth of knowledge and an infectious enthusiasm for children’s growth, creativity, and joyful exploration — the very heart of the museum’s mission.

Kathy’s decades of experience as an educator and leader have equipped her with the vision  and energy to guide the museum through an exciting season of expansion and innovation.

“My passion is to see children flourish and thrive in every area of life. I am excited to be the  Executive Director and have a part in growing the museum for the community and  surrounding areas to enjoy and experience.” – Kathy Harrison

“We are thrilled to have Kathy lead the Museum into a new era,” said Macy Middleton,  Founder and President of the Board of Directors. “We are expanding 4,000 square feet and  launching an afterschool program, and we are confident that Kathy will execute and elevate  our vision so we can serve the community at a greater capacity.”

The Chambers County Children’s Museum continues to be a cornerstone of creative learning  and imaginative play for children and families across the region. With Kathy Harrison at the  helm, the Museum looks forward to new possibilities, strong community partnerships, and  transformative experiences for every child who walks through its doors.

About the Chambers County Children’s Museum

The Chambers County Children’s Museum was founded in 2019 by a group of 12 dedicated  community leaders with a shared vision to create a vibrant, hands-on learning space for  children and families. Through the generous support of Mayes Middleton, the museum was  gifted a 15-year rent-free lease at the former Thrif-Tee Food Center. After years of planning  and fundraising, the museum officially opened its doors in June 2023 with the backing of  more than 70 community sponsors and foundations. Today, the museum welcomes over  70,000 visitors each year, offering interactive exhibits and creative programming that  inspire imagination, exploration, and lifelong learning.
