One of the favorite events of the annual Texas Rice Festival is the popular Old Timers’ Breakfast hosted by The Arboretum of Winnie. Patti Fitzgerald chairs the event which features a free breakfast for the community. For over 20 years, The Arboretum of Winnie has provided the delicious breakfast which is prepared by the Arboretum staff under the watchful eye of nutritionist Gloria Avalos.

Administrator Kayla Kiker stresses that it takes the whole team at The Arboretum to make the breakfast a success. “Our kitchen staff works tirelessly to provide a delicious, healthy breakfast for several hundred people. And our regular staff ensures that the residents of The Arboretum who can attend are fed and tended to properly.”  She added, “We are privileged to serve our community and always look forward to seeing everyone at our annual Old Timers’ Breakfast!”

The Texas Rice Festival Senior Queen Mckenzie as well as the Texas Gatorfest Queen Phoebe Garza and Texas Gatorfest Junior Queen Brooklyn Armentor were in attendance as well as TRF Board President Kelly Alton, board members Darrel Guidry, Frank Abalos, Gary Garcia, Jordan Kiker, and Peanut Gilfillian.
