Anahuac Lady Panthers Volleyball Slow Start on the Season

Anahuac Panthers vs. High Island Cardinals

  There’s no place like home for Anahuac, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the High Island Cardinals by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2023.

  Anahuac had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-7, 25-22, 25-18.

  Anahuac moved to 6-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for High Island, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Anahuac Panthers vs. Caney Creek Panthers

  Anahuac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to Caney Creek. Anahuac was not able to make up for their defeat to Caney Creek from their previous meeting back in August of 2019.

  Anahuac’s loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Caney Creek, they moved to 8-11 with that win, which also ended their 11-game losing streak.

Anahuac Panthers vs. Livingston Lions

  It was a proper cat-fight when Anahuac challenged Livingston on Thursday. The Panthers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn’t forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

  Addilynn Pierce paced Anahuac’s offense, picking up two kills. Pierce got some help from Addison Dugat and her two assists.

  Anahuac has been struggling recently as they’ve lost four of their last five contests. That’s put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Livingston, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.

Anahuac Panthers vs. Hardin-Jefferson Hawks

  Anahuac lost against Hardin-Jefferson two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. The Panthers have now taken an ‘L’ in back-to-back games.

  Anahuac’s loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Hardin-Jefferson, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Anahuac Panthers vs. Harker Heights Knights

  Anahuac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Harker Heights Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair’s previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

  Brogan May paced Anahuac’s offense, picking up three kills. May got some help from Sky Hedges and her six assists.

  Anahuac’s loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Harker Heights, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-10.

Anahuac Panthers vs. Liberty Panthers

  Anahuac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to Liberty. Unfortunately, that’s the second time they’ve come up short against Liberty this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Tuesday.

  Brecken Wilpitz paced Anahuac’s offense, picking up three kills. Wilpitz got some help from Sky Hedges and her four assists. Finally, Madison Willis kept Anahuac’s defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

  Anahuac’s defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Liberty, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-8.

Anahuac Panthers vs. Cleveland Indians

  Anahuac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cleveland Indians. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn’t forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

  Brayli Van Vickle paced Anahuac’s offense, picking up five kills. Van Vickle got some help from Addison Dugat and her eight assists. Finally, Brecken Wilpitz kept Anahuac’s defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

  Anahuac’s defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Cleveland, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.

Anahuac Panthers vs. Texas City Stingarees

   Anahuac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Texas City Stingarees. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stingarees apparently hadn’t forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

  Madison Willis paced Anahuac’s offense, picking up three kills. Willis got some help from Addison Dugat and her four assists.

  Anahuac’s loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Texas City, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Anahuac Panthers vs. Shepherd Pirates

  Anahuac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Shepherd Pirates.
