Anahuac had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn’t the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the West Hardin Oilers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.
Anahuac actually scored more points across those five sets (107-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-23, 17-25, 18-25, 15-10.
Madison Willis paced Anahuac’s offense, picking up five kills. Willis got some help from Addison Dugat and her 15 assists. Willis was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.
Anahuac won the last time they faced Deweyville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 2-0.
Brayli Van Vickle paced Anahuac’s offense, picking up two kills. Van Vickle were helped by Addison Dugat and Sky Hedges, who contributed three assists each.
Anahuac saw some tournament action on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Hemphill Hornets. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.
Brecken Wilpitz paced Anahuac’s offense, picking up three kills. Wilpitz got some help from Sky Hedges and her six assists.
It was a proper cat-fight when Anahuac faced off against Onalaska on Friday. The Panthers walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Wildcats.
Anahuac’s offense was headlined by Brayli Van Vickle and Rai’Ana Lewis, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Addison Dugat and her four assists. Finally, Van Vickle was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.
Anahuac picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Hudson Hornets.

Anahuac has been performing well recently as they’ve won three of their last four contests. That’s provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Anahuac lost against Hardin-Jefferson back in August of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Panthers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks.

Anahuac’s loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Anahuac hosted the Liberty Lady Panthers on Tuesday, August 19th. They will travel to Nederland on Friday, August 22nd to take on the Lady Bulldogs with games to start at 4:30pm.
