Anahuac Lady Panthers Volleyball Come up Short

Anahuac Panthers vs. Kirbyville Wildcats

  Anahuac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday, october 21st as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kirbyville Wildcats. Unfortunately, that’s the second time they’ve come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

  Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22, 24-26, 25-16.

  Anahuac’s offense was headlined by Addilynn Pierce and Madison Willis, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Sky Hedges and her 16 assists. Finally, Rai’Ana Lewis kept Anahuac’s defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

  Anahuac’s loss dropped their record down to 9-32. As for Kirbyville, their win ended a five-match drought at home and bumped them up to 19-17.

Anahuac Panthers vs. Hardin Hornets

  Anahuac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday, October 24th as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Hardin Hornets, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that’s the second time they’ve come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

  Anahuac was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Hardin work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-11, 27-25, 25-16.

  Brayli Van Vickle paced Anahuac’s offense, picking up four kills. Van Vickle got some help from Sky Hedges and her 12 assists. Hedges was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

  Anahuac’s record now sits at 9-33. As for Hardin, they are on a roll lately: they’ve won six of their last seven matches. That’s provided a massive bump to their 19-16 record this season.
