Anahuac Lady Panthers Volleyball Come up Short

Anahuac Panthers vs. Hardin Hornets

Anahuac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday, September 30th as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Hardin Hornets. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn’t forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-13, 25-14.

Brecken Wilpitz paced Anahuac’s offense, picking up four kills. Wilpitz got some help from Sky Hedges and her seven assists. Finally, Madison Willis kept Anahuac’s defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Anahuac’s defeat dropped their record down to 9-27. As for Hardin, they pushed their record up to 14-14 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Game stats are as follows: #1 Brecken Wilpitz with 4 kills, 2 blocks, and 7 digs; #2 Addison Dugat with 2 digs, and 6 assists; #4 Rai’Ana Lewis with 2 kills, 1 block, and 4 digs; #5 Callie Henicke with 1 ace, 6 digs, and 1 assist; #6 Brogan May with 1 block; #7 Madison Willis with 1 kill, 3 blocks, 1 assist, and 1 dig; #8 Brayli Van Vickle with 1 kill, 4 blocks, and 5 digs; #10 Avery Smith with 2 kills, 4 digs, and 1 assist; #12 Addilynn Pierce with 3 kills, and 1 dig; and #13 Sky Hedges with 3 kills, 2 digs and 7 assists.

Anahuac Panthers vs. Orangefield Bobcats

Anahuac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday, October 3rd as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Orangefield Bobcats, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that’s the second time they’ve come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-11, 25-14.

Madison Willis paced Anahuac’s offense, picking up six kills. Willis got some help from Sky Hedges and her seven assists. Finally, Willis was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Anahuac’s loss dropped their record down to 9-28. As for Orangefield, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-19.

The Lady Panthers hosted the Kountze Lady Lions on Tuesday, October 7th. The Lady Panthers will host the East Chambers Lady Bucs on Friday, October 10th with Varsity game beginning at 4:30pm.
