For whatever reason, it’s the away team that’s had the advantage when Anahuac and Woodville meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Panthers received a blow as they fell 37-22 to the Eagles. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn’t forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Luke Babin had an outrageously good game for Woodville as he threw for 202 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 43 yards and one score. That’s the most passing touchdowns Babin has posted since back in November of 2024.

Anahuac’s loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Woodville, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Anahuac will square off against Garrison at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Woodville, they will take on Coldspring-Oakhurst at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
