  East Chambers never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn’t the case in their game against West Orange-Stark on Saturday. They were the clear victor by an 11-4 margin over the West Orange-Stark Mustangs. Considering the Buccaneers’ hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

  Emily Vratis and Hailey Hjelle did most of the damage at the plate: Vratis scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Hjelle scored a run while going 3-for-4. What’s more, Vratis posted three hits, the most she’s had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Marley Morgan, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. East Chambers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Orange-Stark only posted a batting average of .294.

  East Chambers’ win bumped their record up to 7-3-1. As for West Orange-Stark, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3-2.

  Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Chambers will challenge Buna at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Orange-Stark, they will square off against Bridge City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
