The East Chambers Lady Bucs Softball season began on Tuesday, February 11th when they hosted Port Arthur Memorial in their season opener on Tuesday, February 11th. Coach Erin Palmer commented, “It wasn’t the best weather, but it was the best possible outcome. We collected multiple hits and were aggressive on the bases.” The Lady Bucs smoked the PA Memorial Lady Titans 16-1.
The Lady Bucs hosted the Tarkington Lady Longhorns on Friday, February 14th. The Lady Bucs had a team win. Offensively they had 10 hits, 12 RBIs, 8 walks, and ZERO STRIKEOUTS! Isabella Quave hit a solo HR in the bottom of the 4th.
Defensively, the Lady Bucs had 18 putouts, an .871 field percentage, and our pitchers earned 8 strikeouts! “Our hard work is starting to produce results,” stated Coach Erin Palmer.
It was another successful outing for the Lady Bucs as they traveled to West Hardin on Monday, February 17th. The Lady Bucs were down 2-0 until the top of the 4th when Hailey Hjelle hit a solid ground ball up the middle of the field and Emily Vratis caused an error with a sky high fly. From there, Marley Morgan ABSOLUTELY CRUSHED her first pitch of the at bat with a Homer over right center. From there, EC stepped on the gas and didn’t let up, scoring another 3 runs in the 5th and 1 in the 7th. “As the kids say, all gas, no brakes!” Coach Erin Palmer. The final score West Hardin 3 – EC 7.
