Occasionally I realize that God is in control, unstoppable, has a plan that He is carrying out flawlessly that is perfectly amazing and good. The problem with realizing that is that there is so much going on in the world that seems to contradict all of that. Terrible things happen. We like to ask “Where was God when that horrible thing happened? If there is a God, how could He not intervene?”. One of the pieces of that puzzle is that God is able and eager to fix any and all things. We can’t see how we can ever rebound and get past/over things, but we can. In 2 Samuel 5 David decides to bring the Ark into Jerusalem because he values God and wants to honor Him and draw close to Him. They move it wrong (cart versus carry) and when they hit a pothole the Ark is in danger of falling over so a priest, Uzziah, touches it to steady it. God strikes Uzziah dead. David is angry and declares he doesn’t know how he can ever bring the Ark in. But a few months later David is told that God is blessing the house where they left it, and he decides to bring it into Jerusalem, to try again, and this time it is done correctly and it works. Give God a chance. He can do any and all. Is Uzzah still dead? Yes, but God will make that right later. Believe! We have no grasp of what God can do. Get past things you hold grudges over. Trust in God.
