God’s word is a precious gift to us from God that we dare not ignore. I do write in my Bibles but try to not get my or some other person’s words confused with God’s. I have heard various forms of this unbiblical idea: God will not put more on us than we can handle. That’s our words/idea, not God’s. He does make sure to give us an escape route from sin so we don’t have to sin (1 Corinthians 10:13) but that’s not the same thing as giving us more than we can handle. Of course God is bigger than anything that can enter our life. He can handle even the things we can’t. He will never leave or forsake us and that should help us handle just about everything, but we are human and limited. So should we panic that horrible things are about to happen? No, just be encouraged that whatever comes we can rejoice in it (James 1) and that all things work together for good for those that love the Lord and are called according to His purposes. He’s driving our lives and He can be trusted.
