Buccaneer Nation Celebrates a Year of Athletic Excellence

  Family and friends gathered to celebrate the East Chambers Buccaneers and Lady Buccaneers athletes on Tuesday, May 11th in the “dome” at the annual ECHS Athletics Banquet. A delicious dinner and dessert was catered by the Original Lercy’s Restaurant.

  The first order of business was the presentation of the “Buc Backer” award. East Chambers High School Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Russ Sutherland presented the “Buc Backer of the Year” award to Jeff “Gibby” Gibson for his long-time support of the Buccaneer athletics.

  Each sport’s head coach recognized both the junior varsity and varsity players of the team. Special recognition was given to those teams advancing past District and to the athletes that received post season honors. Each year the J.D. Hutson Award is presented to two seniors who are honored for their exceptional athletic abilities throughout their high school years. This year the J.D. Hutson Award presented by Superintendent Andrea Smith was presented to Jayda Leday and Reid Todd.
