EC Buccaneers Stymied By Huntington Red Devils

  East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers couldn’t keep up with Huntington Varsity Red Devils and fell 9-0 on Thursday, April 30th.

 Huntington Varsity Red Devils got on the board in the top of the first inning after #6 singled to center field, and #4 walked, each scoring one run.

 Huntington Varsity Red Devils added two runs in the third. #4 doubled to center field, making the score 4-0.

  Hank Huff stepped on the bump first for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The starter allowed seven hits and nine runs (six earned) over six and one-third innings, striking out three and walking three. #19 stepped on the bump first for Huntington Varsity Red Devils. The pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking none.

  Landon Lockhart led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with one hit in two at bats.

  #4 provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Huntington Varsity Red Devils with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. #6, #1, and #4 each collected two hits for Huntington Varsity Red Devils. #6 and #1 each stole multiple bases for Huntington Varsity Red Devils. Huntington Varsity Red Devils ran wild on the base paths, accumulating seven stolen bases for the game. Huntington Varsity Red Devils didn’t commit a single error in the field. #2 had the most chances in the field with nine.

EC Buccaneers Lose To Huntington Red Devils

  East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers fell to Huntington Varsity Red Devils 7-2 on Saturday, May 2nd at Huntsville.

 Huntington Varsity Red Devils got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Evan Aldava grounded into a fielder’s choice, and Brendan Fitzgerald hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

  A fielder’s choice by Alex McGilvra extended the Huntington Varsity Red Devils lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

 Huntington Varsity Red Devils added two runs in the third. Isaac Sapp singled to center field, making the score 5-0.

  Hayden Leveck led things off on the hill for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The hurler gave up nine hits and seven runs (four earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking three. Luke Green started on the bump for Huntington Varsity Red Devils. The hurler allowed five hits and two runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one.

  Reid Todd went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Tanner Salazar led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with two hits in three at bats.

 Huntington Varsity Red Devils accumulated nine hits in the game. Fitzgerald provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Huntington Varsity Red Devils with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-2 on the day. Caleb Terrazas, Aldava, and Reece Fitzgerald each collected two hits for Huntington Varsity Red Devils. Aldava stole two bases. Huntington Varsity Red Devils ran wild on the base paths, accumulating four stolen bases for the game. Huntington Varsity Red Devils turned one double play in the game.
