  The East Chambers Bucs were home on Tuesday, April 14th as they hosted the Buna Cougars and celebrated Senior Night. The Bucs were on the road on Friday, April 17th as they traveled to Buna to take on the Cougars.

EC Buccaneers Grabs Lead Late For Victory Over Buna

  East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers snatched the lead late in their 4-3 victory over Buna on Tuesday. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the fifth when Tanner Salazar doubled, scoring one run.

  A ground out by Burks put Buna on the board in the top of the first.

  East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers took the lead in the bottom of the third. Sam Cathriner doubled, scoring two runs, to give East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers the leg up, 2-1.

  A double by Midkiff gave Buna the lead, 3-2, in the top of the fifth.

   In the bottom of the fifth inning, East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers went back into the lead after Hank Huff flew out, and Salazar doubled to right field, each scoring one run.

  Huff opened the game for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The starting pitcher allowed eight hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one. Midkiff stepped on the mound first for Buna. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and four runs over five innings, striking out 12 and walking four.

  Cathriner drove the middle of the lineup, leading East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. Huff led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with two hits in three at bats. Reid Todd stole two bases.

  Midkiff and Gomez were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Buna. Midkiff went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Buna didn’t commit a single error in the field. Ashley had the most chances in the field with 15.

EC Buccaneers Fall To Buna After Surrendering Big Third Inning

  Buna scored four runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers 7-1 on Friday.

  Buna were the first to get on the board in the first when Gomez singled, scoring two runs.

  Buna extended their early lead with four runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Batman, Baldwin, and Broom.

  Hayden Leveck took the loss for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The starter went three innings, surrendering six runs (four earned) on six hits, striking out six and walking one. Gomez stepped on the bump first for Buna. The starter surrendered three hits and one run over five innings, striking out five and walking five.

 Landon Lockhart, Hank Huff, and Reid Todd each collected one hit for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. Koby Jones led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with one run batted in.

   Gomez drove the middle of the lineup, leading Buna with three runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-3 on the day. Farr and Gomez were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Buna. Buna turned one double play in the game.

  East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers will traveled to Orangefield for their last regular game of the season on Tuesday, April 21st.
