On Tuesday, February 10th, the Runnin’ Bucs traveled to Kountze to take on the Kountze Lions. The Runnin’ Bucs exploded early as they jumped out to a 26-7 first quarter lead, and never looked back, as they cruised to a 89-50 win. The full court pressure caused numerous turnovers and led to many easy buckets early.
The Buccaneers were led by terrific shooting performance by Senior #23 Dayvon Wallace with 35 points and 11 rebounds. With this performance Dayvon surpassed the 1000 point landmark in his career. What an accomplishment!
Also in double digits for the Bucs was Junior #4 Cam Dillard with 18 points and 12 rebounds
This run runs the Buccaneers record to 26-6 and 10-2.
The Runnin’ Bucs defeated the Buna Cougars 78 to 56 at home on Saturday, February 14th. It was a slow start for the Bucs, as they could not buy a bucket in the first quarter and were down 12 to 10 after the end of the quarter. They then exploded as #23 Dayvon Wallace hit six three-pointers in the second quarter. This sent the Bucs to a 42-25 lead and they never looked back.
Leading scorers for the Buccaneers were #23 Dayvon Wallace with 35, #24 Darius Edmonson with 15, #4 Cam Dillard and #5 Colby West with 10.
It is the second game in a row that Dayvon has scored 35 points and he was one three-pointer away from tying the school record of 10. What a great effort.
This runs the Buccaneers record to 27-6 and 11-2 in district.
The Runnin’ Bucs took the short trip to Anahuac on Tuesday, February 17th to take on the Anahuac Panthers. As of now, no future games for the Runnin’ Bucs have been scheduled. The Bucs are ranked 2nd in District Play and awaiting the playoff schedule.
Congratulations to Dayvon Wallace for scoring 1000 points in his career. What a great milestone, and he is so deserving of reaching this.
Dayvon is a hard worker, reliable, respectable, and of high character. His work ethic has certainly put him over the top with his milestone.
We are very proud of him and thankful that he is a Runnin’ Buc!
