The East Chambers Buccaneers closed out District play on Tuesday, February 17th with a 77 and 32 win over the Anahuac Panthers in Anahuac.
The Buccaneers jumped out to a quick lead with the majority of the buckets, coming off of forced turnovers by the full court pressure defense. Players were flying around and created problems the entire game because of their relentless defense.
Leading scorers for the Bucs were Cam Dillard with 23 (5-7 from the three-point line), Dayvon Wallace with 14 (4 threes) and 10 rebounds, Darius Edmonson with 14 points, and Colby West with 10 points and eight assist.
This runs the Buccaneers record to 28-6, 12-2 in district.
On Friday, February 20th, the Buccaneers drove to Reeves, Louisiana in search of a warm-up game.
The full court pressure caused problems from the start. Also, the Bucs only turned the ball over four times which led to a 88-42 victory.
Leading scorers for the Bucs were Dayvon Wallace with 21, Cam Dillard with 20, and Evan Callahan with 17.
The Bucs are now 29-6 on the year. The Runnin’ Bucs played Huntington Tuesday, February 24th in Woodville in the Bi-District game.
