The East Chambers Buccaneers defeated the Hardin Hornets 71-39 on Tuesday, January 13th in Hardin. This improves the record to 19-5 overall 3-1 in district.

The Buccaneers defense created a lot of opportunities, especially early in the game. Leading scorers for the Bucs were Cam Dillard with 32 (5 threes), Colby West with 13, and Dayvon Wallace with 10.

Started off very slow on Friday, January 16th when they hosted the 2024-2025 State Champs, the Kountze Lions. The Runnin’ Bucs were down 8-0 and then exploded. The Buccaneers finally got their act together and outscored the Kountze Lions 38-8 to end the half.

Second half was a different story as the Buccaneers played flawless basketball for the most part. Great defense, and unselfish offense helped the Buccaneers put up big numbers in the second half.

Leading scorers for the Bucs were Dayvon Wallace with 32 (5 threes), Cam Dillard with 24, and Evan Callahan with 11.

Also, Cam Dillard topped 1000 points for his career in this game. What an accomplishment.

This runs the Buccaneers record to 20-5 and 4-1 in district with important games next week as they travel to Buna on Tuesday, January 20th to take on the Buan Cougars. The Bucs will host the Anahuac Panthers on Friday, January 23rd with tip-off at 7:15pm.

Congratulations to #4 Cam Dillard (center) for reaching 1000 points Friday, January 16th vs Kountze.
Cam has accomplished this in his junior year, so there are many more points to come.
